What are the largest panel sizes & thicknesses you offer?

Does ENVEL ship internationally?

A.

Absolutely. We are proud to manufacture our ENVELEX products out of California and are very experienced with shipping materials nationwide and internationally.

Will ENVEL cut or trim my pieces for me?

A.

Yes. However, depending on the quantity and the complexity of the cuts a nominal fee may apply.

Oftentimes cutting material here at the factory makes economic sense because it allows for a high level of accuracy and can enable a smaller and less expensive crate for shipping.

Can ENVEL make curved (non-straight) cuts?

A.

Yes. Please note - cutting parts to a radius will incur a fee.

Can ENVEL bend and form curved parts?

A.

Yes. ENVEL DESIGN can thermoform and bend our sheets to specialty shapes. Please contact the factory with your design concept prior to ordering as there are limits to how tightly parts certain finishes can be bent and formed.

What type of spacing should be allowed for Expansion/Contraction?

A.

For acrylic, a safe allowance is an 1/8 of an inch for every 8 feet, or equivalent arithmetic for smaller sizes in length of ENVELEX panel as temperature and humidity will affect panel dimensions.

Does ENVEL provide drawings?

A.

Certain custom fabrications and projects will come with a complete set of shop-drawings and or details. If you require specific architectural details please let your salesperson know prior to placing your order. Cut-lists for optimized straight-cuts can generally be provided on request.

Can ENVEL recommend an installer?

A.

We are happy to provide names of firms with whom we have successfully worked in the past. Please inquire as the applicable list of installers will vary depending upon your location.

Does ENVEL provide installation?

A.

No.

ENVEL DESIGN is solely a manufacturer, however we can provide turnkey fabrications as well as kits complete with all parts, instructions, and necessary hardware.

Does ENVEL provide framework?

A.

Yes. Please note most framework is custom engineered on a project to project basis.

Does ENVEL sell stand-offs?

How can I hide seams?

A.

Seamed joints will always have some degree of visibility; depending on material selection, lighting, and thickness of product, there are different options to address these conditions.

Can ENVEL materials be used as a backsplash?

A.

Selected ENVEL products are suitable for this application. Please send complete information regarding your intended installation. ENVELEX is NOT suitable for high-heat locations such as fireplace surrounds, stovetop backsplashes, or exhaust hoods.

Are ENVEL materials fire rated?

A.

Yes, contact factory for applicable ASTM data. Fire test information is available on the product data sheets and varies depending on material type.

Can I cut the material in the field or in my own shop?

A.

Yes, with proper cutting equipment (router, panel saw, or table saw). However, DO NOT attempt to cut with hand, circular/skilsaw or equal. CONTACT FACTORY BEFORE attempting ANY cutting or drilling procedures on your delivered product. ENVEL shall not be responsible for modifications made to materials after they have left our facility.

If I request custom samples, is there a charge?

A.

Usually a nominal fee will apply unless factory remnants are on-hand which may satisfy immediate submittal requirements. Sample costs vary based on size, thickness, quantity and complexity - please contact us with your sampling request so we can answer any questions.

Does ENVEL do take-offs?

A.

Not typically. Responsibility for determining Bill of Material requirements rests with the ordering party. However, supporting architectural documents and details are welcomed by our estimating staff to enhance our understanding of scope of work, field conditions, and your design intentions on any individual projects.

Can ENVEL make the material more opaque?

A.

Yes. There are several ways for ENVEL to achieve your desired light transmission value, we can make adjustments to the resin formulation, or move to a more diffused casting substrate.

How can I hide the light source behind the ENVEL material?

A.

With our custom products, ENVEL can offer adjustments in transparency to materials ordered. In addition, ENVEL offers a variety of supplemental diffuser products which can be used in conjunction with our decorative materials. If you have a specific diffusion goal please let us know and tell us as much about your light source as possible.

Can I use ENVEL products outside?

Organic–based colorants currently utilized in ENVELEX formulations are not suitable for long-term exterior applications.

Does ENVEL offer wholesale pricing?

A.

ENVEL DESIGN offers factory pricing directly to our clients whether that is the designer, purchasing agent, or end-property itself. Pricing discounts are based on order volume, not client or industry type.

Can ENVELEX be adhered to surfaces with glue?

A.

Yes, however, ENVEL DESIGN always recommends a mechanical fastener (hardware, framing, standoffs etc.) versus an adhesive alone (glue, silicone, epoxy). High-tack transparent silicone adhesives have successfully been utilized in the past. The client is responsible for any and all testing to ensure there is no “bleed-through” and that no objectionable shadows are made when using an adhesive to bond the luminous ENVELEX surfaces.

Can I order Waffles with texture on just one side?

A.

No. The Waffles pattern is cast onto both sides of the sheet to create the effect.

Can I order Criss Cross with texture on just one side?

No. The Criss Cross pattern is cast onto both sides of the sheet to create the effect.
